Fundraising for CAFOD

Christmas 2010

Catherine Farfan's Project to raise £4,000 to fund a Third World Health Clinic was taken up by the parish as its Advent Appeal,

and in the event over £4,400 was raised.  Well done, Catherine, and all who contributed so generously.

Individual and group contributors included:

 

The Blessed Sacrament Guild, £70, through an event "Desert Island Carols" chosen by the members

and presented on video by Cecilia and Peter Whelan.

 

£57 from Link Christmas Party collection.

 

£220 (or thereabouts) from Carol Singing by Parish Youth and St. Ambrose; St. Ambrose organised by Tracey Summerell.  (Photos above).

 

A generous donation was raised by Sheila Wilkinson selling cakes after Mass;

and a further generous donation was received from The Christian Brothers.

Deacon Alan Comes of Age

On 1st November 2009, after the 10.30 am Mass, Deacon Alan celebrated with parishioners his 60th birthday. 

The photos show the beautifully decorated cake made by parishioner Sheila Wilkinson, and Deacon Alan

proudly holding aloft a celebratory balloon.

BSG Coffee Morning, Saturday 21st November 2009

The Blessed Sacrament Guild's Coffee Mornings are always a great opportunity for parishioners and friends

to meet socially, as well as providing funds primarily for Altar expenses.
