A PARISH CELEBRATION
12 October 2003
The Parish Day, on Sunday 12 October 2003, celebrated the work that the Parish accomplishes through its various groups and societies, and provided an opportunity for parishioners to reflect on and explore the future needs of the parish.
Refreshments were provided for the many parishioners attending, with time to inspect the impressive displays mounted by parish organisations, prior to the day being introduced by the Chairman of the Parish Committee, John Frame. Parish Priest Fr David Roberts then identified various headings under which proposals for the future could be made, and parishioners gathered into groups to discuss and list their proposals, which were then displayed for inspection by all present. The sheets of proposals were afterwards displayed in the Church, to be seen by all parishioners at the weekend Masses.
The event was very much appreciated by parishioners as an opportunity to meet together in friendship, as well as providing concrete proposals for the future. The many suggestions will now be considered over coming months by the Parish Pastoral Council currently being established, and a programme of implementation identified.
